S&G maybe some good news on the horizon
WEST HAM joint owners David Sullivan and David Gold are looking to sell part of their stake in the club but both want to stay on the board.

The two Hammers supremos have been looking to bring other investors into the club for over a year but plans had been put on hold this season while Slaven Bilic’s team dropped towards the Premier League relegation zone.

The crucial 1-0 win over Swansea on Saturday has eased fears of the drop, with West Ham now eight points clear of the relegation zone with six matches left.

A drop into the Championship would have dealt a massive blow to the prospect of attracting any big league investors, and although the danger has by no means entirely passed, Sullivan and Gold are again actively looking for people with the wealth to take the club to the next stage.

Sullivan and Gold want to recoup some of their investment in the club, but both will want to keep their places on the board in the future if any deal is done.

Last summer the duo rejected a £650 million takeover bid for the club from energy drinks giants Red Bull. A valuation of the club last year put a price on West Ham of around £200m, although Sullivan believed the move to the London Stadium meant the club was worth nearer £400m

Old news.

Want new investors but not offering much incentive.

North son!

All very interesting. Let's hope someone VERY rich steps in.

Although I dont believe for a second the owners turned down a bid 250 million quid higher than their own valuation...!

As much as I want this to be true:

Last summer the duo rejected a £650 million takeover bid for the club from energy drinks giants Red Bull.

NEVER HAPPENED.

A valuation of the club last year put a price on West Ham of around £200m, although Sullivan believed the move to the London Stadium meant the club was worth nearer £400m

IF HE THINKS WE'RE WORTH £400m HE'D BE A RIGHT FUCKING DIV TO TURN DOWN £650M.

However, this brings some hope.

That article must have been written by a twelve year old. If Sullivan thinks it's worth £400 million, why would he turn down £650 million.

Is Jack doing work experience at the Express and getting free advertising for his old man.

Exactly what I thought Johnson!! Whoever wrote that needs shooting.

I'm guessing Red Bull may be back. £150m will probably get them a controlling stake.

Will we be able to afford a cheese room then?

I'd heard Sullivan wanted someone to put in a load of money but allow him to retain all the decision making power.

Good luck with that...

Red Bull Hammers at the Vodafone Arena.

I'm so glad the Dave's 'saved' our club.

Re: S&G maybe some good news on the horizon
Not sure this is much different from what they said when they took over. They'd like other investors to pitch in. I can see it makes sense for them. What I can't see is Sullivan relinquishing any real control.

Re: S&G maybe some good news on the horizon
As others have said, this is old news, said as much from day one.

Basically they want an idiot.. I mean investor to stick his hard earned family inheritance of tens/hundreds of millions in for a small percentage shareholding without any say.

May go some way to explaining why no idiot.. I mean investor has been forthcoming.

Holes in this article.
Perhaps the Red Bull offer was £65m.
Looks CHEAP for them to report that figure so they added a nought to it to make it a ball park figure for other investors.

Re: S&G maybe some good news on the horizon
Forbes had us down this time last year as 365m and 17th biggest club.

I can't see these giving anything up anytime soon. This all sounds like bollocks to me.

Re: S&G maybe some good news on the horizon
Sullivan not that long ago:

“We have zero desire to sell the club unless the king of Saudi Arabia or the Sultan of Brunei come along. We’re not going to sell to an American or Chinese consortium,” he told Sky Sports.

“We might sell a minority shareholding to clear our debts, but in all probability our kids will take over from us. We love West Ham; we’re not going anywhere.”

I wouldn't get any hopes up.

"We love West Ham. We are not going anywhere".

True supporters would never have moved us from our home into a rented arena which will always feel temporary.

Talk of cricket being played there now FFS.

What sort of problems do you envisage cricket will cause during the off season?

Re: S&G maybe some good news on the horizon
The thing is the owners have always said they would be interested in getting extra investors in WH. Right from the start they were saying that 7 years ago so this is nothing new or a reason to get excited.

I also read about the Red Bull thing and that story was reported as being an offer of around £200m iirc. Then Jack Tweeted that they had already turned down an offer of £650m last August so weren't interested in Red Bull - again iirc.

I never read that as being a Red Bull offer. I thought it was another offer from someone that made tentative enquiries about a deal for £650m. That's what agents do to 'test the water' and get themselves involved in any deals or to meet and offer to find a buyer for £650m.

I don't doubt the truth in that. Just its relevance as a serious offer.

Re: S&G maybe some good news on the horizon
Red Bull's head of Football publicly denied any bid was made. I'd be inclined to believe him.
